Another quick verification I did was to ground the non banded side of the diode on the pops and they fire. Grounding the kicker coils, does not cause them to fire.

That's a classic and very typical problem with the horseshoe targets used in this and many other games made around that time,. The contacts more than likely have to be cleaned and adjusted. You have to disassemble them from the underside of the playfield.

Would ARA have enough parts in hand to build more than the 40? Enough time has past to have more built while waiting to be paid. Whole pins would be more valuable to them in the long run over parts.
