Hey @bugsy the first thing I would check is your lower pulley. If that thing has a lot of play (common for games that had a lot of use) it can cause mis-registration. Additionally the same can be true if you drive belt (the clear rubber band) is worn or stretched out.

Rescued this guy today. It's been sitting in storage for at least 12 years. A few cosmetic issues but seems to work 100% and should clean up very nice!
