Found something on push to start this weekend that I don't like. My Dad in his mid 80's put his car in the garage went up stairs for supper. Mom always checks all the doors at bedtime. Also check the paper insulator behind the start button leaf blade. They do wear out and will make contact with the metal support tab behind the switch and will ground. Coin door frame is connected to ground as long as all the grounding hasn't been touched or is corroded.

Sorry. Wrong pic. Dimensions here. Right angle bend needed to prevent the gate from rotating past and going under the switch on ball entry going up the ramp.

The topic that you linked where U206 is called the same type as U201 is probably mixed up with another U20x.
Function of U206 is to read the dedicated switches and (according to schematics) it should be a 74HC245
With an HCT273 installed, I can imagine that (some) datalines are stalled
