2.0 interferences VHF radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m facing this problem: I have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flugvario.de\/index.php?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">Skytraxx 2.0<\/a> (GPS variometer for paraglider) and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.409shop.com\/409shop_product.php?id=104131\" target=\"_blank\">Puxing PX-888 <\/a>VHF ham radio.<br \/>\nWhen the variometer emits sounds, it triggers the radio whatever the squelch setting is set on.<br \/>\nA quick video of the problem:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/63732464\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m doubtful about the CE certification of this very cheap Chinese radio (a CE sticker is present in the battery tray but doesn&#8217;t mean much&#8230;).<\/p>\n<p>So, as I&#8217;m not planning to change neither the radio or the variometer, I came along with this fix: put aluminum foil inside the variometer style='clear: both' \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Very easy to do, juste make sure the aluminium touches the usb connector when you close it and everything else is well insulated (pin with kapton tape, etc..).<\/p>\n<p>Now the same test with the aluminium shield:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/63732462\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Much better: can use for competitions now, with the mini solar vario <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lebipbip.com\/the-bip-bip\/\" target=\"_blank\">leBipBip<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It even seems to improve the time to fix, usualy took 5min and now about
