ryan1234 on "Reducing Weight on Coil Plungers...."

Reducing the weight is a interesting idea, seems like it should work. Alot of chime plungers have the center drilled out. On the same thoughts on making plungers faster, I have wondered about this- could the air trapped between the plunger and the coil stop actually slow down the travel as it needs...

Quench on "First Playfield Swap - Medusa"

Tuesday 22 May 2018 at 16:04

Quoted from StratDoc:Re-soldered the braid wire on the base and no change. It has a good connection to the base. So a few posts ago you mentioned this lamp now works when you ground it. Go back upstream to the lamp driver board and perform the SCRs tests previously done. Quoted from StratDoc:I remov...

I know that I'll get downvoted for my "debbie downer" comments, but come on. given that there are only 200 LEs here in the states and canada, how is this acceptable? I've seen posts from at least 10 different individuals having to [adjust] their machines straight out of the box with some of them hav...

Coolpinballdino on "Iron Maiden: Pro vs Premium"

Tuesday 22 May 2018 at 16:03

I was originally going to get a premium but I decided to go pro the main reason I decided to go pro is I like the artwork better don't get me wrong I think the premium art is cool but I just love that trooper cabinet. I also thought the playfield differences where not that major and did not really c...

tamoore on "Iron Maiden: What do you do when your dream theme is a letdown?"

Tuesday 22 May 2018 at 16:02

One of the reasons I like this game is because it doesn't have a large happy meal toy stuck to the play field. They put the money where its important to be spent when it comes to pinball machines: On pinball parts. Best game design since Metallica (or GOTG).

Quoted from dothedoo:Early classic Stern flipper plungers are smaller diameter for about 2/3 of their length. Don’t know if this was done to reduce weight or cost though. Old bally too. They've got that plastic ring around them to make them the right size for the sleeve
