Those are optical switches. One is a transmitter and the other is a receiver. The ball blocks the beam of infrared light and that triggers the switch to close.

Were they dim and flickery? If so its probably the resistors.

OK. That’s the issue.
Under the playfield there should be connectors for each pair; make sure they’re fully seated in their respective boards.

Merry Christmas from down here in Cuba. Came down for the holidays and having an amazing time. They don't have pinball that I can find, but I know it was here on some level. I found a "drop a card" back glass in a museum, but sadly that was the only piece.

When I check them it does not work. It is an eye type switch the strange thing is it has two and neither one works.
