Look at the cabinet switch, did something bang into it knocking it out of adjustment, did the contacts weld themselves together? Lastly if the contacts are open then cut one lead of the capacitor off the switch and retest.

Have used this method several times. A little rubber cement, small piece of rubber band, 1/2 hour drying time, and your pop cap is secured.
