Ok so update. I took the disk of the bonus unit off again and cleaned it/polished it again. I also adjusted the runoff switch on the bonus unit so it should be making good contact no mater if the cam is shaky or not. First couple times it didn't work right, then after about 3 or 4 resets it started ...
