Check out the graphic novel section at Half Priced Books. I started a good collection just from stopping in there once a month or so. Great suggestions above to get you started. Can’t go wrong with Vertigo. I look for specific writers: Ennis, Ellis, Morrison, Gaiman, Azzarello, Snyder
