spinal on "GTB pop bumper Ring/Shafts different?"

Rebuilding pops on my C37 and noticed that two rings/shafts are different where the ring meets the shafts. Anyone know why two different types here or purpose? Which one is factory original? (Thanks) image (resized).jpeg
